Runway 19 is an uphill runway and runs inline with the Transnet ZA Pipeline & has an almost flat in approach from 3-4 miles to the north of the runway from the Mooi River Mount West area. This runway is fenced on either side to keep cattle off the runway & has a windsock approximately 100m from the threshold on the right. A fence before the threshold is clearly marked with silver discs.
Runway 01 also has a farm fence in front of the threshold and is once again clearly marked with silver discs. This is usually the active runway for most mornings and into early afternoon.
Both runways have numbers and threshold lines to clearly mark the approach into A Far Away Place. You will also find 100m markers both numerical and marked with white stone markers.
Landing will require prior permission & the signing of an indemnity form with Mark Trollip who can be contacted on 0829009442 or email@example.com. As with any runway, we suggest you do a low pass to let us know you are here as well as feeling out the runway and approaches. We do have dogs – so be sure to let us know your ETA so that they can be locked away for your landing. Parking for visiting aircraft is available at the windsock in the center of the runway OR in our hangar if we are able to accommodate the aircraft you fly.
Keep a look out for annual our annual fly-in that we host with Sling Aircraft – feel free to join even if you are not lucky enough to be flying in a SLING 🙂
