Please note that while we are PET FRIENDLY you will be required to read and accept all terms and conditions below prior to bringing pets to Far Away Place.

Like you – we love our dogs – so our first policy is that only pets that are well socialized are accepted for stays in our cottage – we have 8 dogs and it’s difficult to co-ordinate ours when visiting dogs are not friendly. As this is our doggies home, it should be noted that 7 Dachshunds can be “full on” so we usually insist on a meet and greet to make sure your doggies and ours know there are visitors. The safety of our own dogs is NOT NEGOTIABLE – If your doggies do not play well with other dogs or do not like other people – please do not book to stay with us.

We do not allow cats. We will also not allow the following breeds of dogs: Staffies, Jack Russells and Pit Bulls.

Any pets staying with you are to be fully house trained. All cottages have laminate floors that will be damaged should you dog choose to urinate in the cottage – should this happen – costs for repair of damaged floors will be for your own account – this also applies to rugs and nguni skins in our cottages.

Under no circumstances are pets to be left unattended in our cottages. We allow a MAXIMUM of 2 dogs per booking.

We suggest bringing towels, bedding and blankets for your doggies to be comfortable – most notably as visiting dogs often get into our dams and then can be messy in your living area. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or on beds.

Please ask us about local businesses that are dog friendly – there are a couple that we can recommend. There is an additional R300 cleaning fee payable by guests with pets – this is payable at the cottage before or at the end of your stay.

Be advised that we fly our aircraft from our home too and have an active runway – so we may require that your dogs are indoors or on leashes with you when there is aircraft activity on our runway. We will communicate this to you as needed.

Cottages are NOT FENCED – & we will not accept any responsibility for lost or missing dogs.

Kindly confirm acceptance of all these terms by replying/noting this in messages to us. Also please confirm that your pets are vaccinated and up to date with rabies shots etc.
